Michelle Harcha, DVM, MA

Michelle Harcha, DVM, MA has 35 years experience in the veterinary profession. Her unique combination of professional experience includes 10 years in clinical practice, 12 years in a variety of roles at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and 10 years in academia leading the Professional Development curriculum for veterinary students at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Her passion for communication training began when she worked in a veterinary emergency clinic. It was in this environment that she became certified in Everything DiSC® and saw how this assessment and communication skills made a huge impact working with and managing veterinary healthcare teams and improving the client experience. After completing several veterinary specific communication courses, the Institute for Healthcare Communication faculty training and the FRANK™ training, she led the development of a comprehensive applied communication curriculum at Ohio State.

Her interest in the Five Behaviors™ program began when she first read New York Times best-selling author Patrick Lencioni's book, "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team." She then pursued becoming an authorized partner and obtained additional training as an accredited facilitator of The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™. This unique learning experience helps people discover what it takes to achieve the ultimate competitive advantage of teamwork. The Five Behaviors™ program powered by Everything DiSC helps participants understand the personalities on their team and how they can effectively work together.

In 2017, she formed LeadYourShip, LLC to bring her experience working with teams on communication skills, leadership development, and emotional intelligence.


  • The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ powered by Everything DiSC®

    This program helps teams understand how, as a team, they score on the key components of The Five Behaviors model: trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results. Each individual on the team will also understand their own personality style and their team members styles, based on the DiSC® model: D: Dominance, i: Influence, S: Steadiness, and C: Conscientiousness, and how their style contributes to the team’s overall success.

    The program is designed exclusively for intact teams and work groups. The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team harnesses the power of Everything DiSC and the clarity and simplicity of The Five Behaviors™ Team model.

    The Five Behaviors™ Model is used to help team members learn to work together more efficiently and effectively and become a more cohesive team. A productive, high-functioning team makes better decisions, utilizes the skills of all members, and avoids office politics and destructive conflict to create a competitive advantage.

    This new product was created to harness the power of The Five Behaviors™ across an entire organization. The Five Behaviors™: Personal Development solution teaches individuals to become better teammates by integrating Patrick Lencioni’s model. The goal is to completely redefine teamwork and collaboration. Personal Development was designed specifically to work for individuals and participants do not all need to be part of the same team. Each participant can carry the takeaways of this program from one team to the next, enabling a culture of teamwork. Anyone can benefit from this profile.

    The workshop includes:
    A computer-adaptive, psychological assessment that measures 12 personality types
    Personal Development Profile and one-on-one Comparison Reports
    Half-day facilitation that includes activities, videos, and handouts.
